Brittany's Bridal Shower

The happy couple. Love them. 

My brother is getting married in three months! That means the bridal shower is right around the corner. After just having a baby and finishing up the school year back at work, I just don’t have time for a lot of DIY. Here’s what I did for favors and invites:

Invites

I wanted pretty invitations for Brittany’s shower, but I didn’t want to break the bank. After giving the rest of the bridal party two choices for designs, I used a snapfish template and simply plugged in the details. The final choice was pretty and snapfish was offering a deal which included 50 invitations, envelopes with printed return address, and an upgrade to cardstock rather than photo paper. The final product was pretty and no more expensive than buying invitations and filling them out by hand.

Favors

For favors, I went with personalized MMs. The website was easy to use and had lots of options for customization. I decided to use light purple and platinum to complement the wedding palette. For clipart, I chose an engagement ring to play off the invites and the word love. You could even add text to the little buggers, so I used their initials and wedding date. To get them prepackaged through the website was fairly expensive, so I decided to order a bulk bag and package them myself.

Another cute idea… A friend of mine posted something one day about a “panty poem” idea she had used at a mutual friend’s bridal shower. I loved the idea, and the other bridesmaids and I decided to create a panty poem for Brittany. The text of the poem is below, and we hung the text and the undies that corresponded with each stanza along a clothesline where Brittany opened her gifts. We read her the poem, and the crowd (and hopefully she) loved it.

And that I cannot hide

So for our little panty queen

I gathered up some twine

And put the panties in a row

To make a panty line.
