Bookworm: I Just Finished... Killing Reagan (1/15/16)

Killing Reagan by Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard

After reading the first two books by this pair, Killing Lincoln and Killing Kennedy,  both of which I enjoyed, I took a hiatus before returning to the series. One quality about this book that pleased me about the first two was its lack of biased political commentary. I expected O’Reilly to get all right wing-ish, and I didn’t feel as though he did. His accounts are very fact based and well cited, which I appreciated. I also was engaged the history lesson. While Killing Reagan was user friendly, I don’t know that everyone would love it. I would recommend to any reader with an interest in the history of the presidency from Richard Nixon to Bush Sr., and/or the Reagan administration. It doesn’t read like a textbook by any means, but it is definitely nonfiction told at a fiction pace--a docudrama in print.
